Maldives Police Service have discussed their latest security preparations for the approaching Presidential Elections slated for 23rd September, within their Executive Board.
According to the Police, in the meeting partaken by Acting Commissioner of Police Abdulla Nawaz as well as Executive Board members, Security Commander for the Election, Assistant Commissioner of Police Hamdhoon Rasheed had shared information on the latest preparations that are underway to maintains security at the ballots.
As such, ACP Hamdhoon had mentioned that preparations are being taken to make sure they will be able to tackle any obstacles crossed before the ballots, during or after it concludes.
Moreover, the ACP said that officers who are to be active in security management will be sent to various parts in outlying atolls in the upcoming month and that a ‘Full-scale exercise’ is being carried out under the training to be conducted to prepare officers who will be active in security management during ballots under the instructions and suggestions of Acting Commissioner of Police Nawaz.
