Islamic Ministry has lifted the suspension on Sheikh Ali Zaid, banning him from giving religious sermons.
The ministry decided to suspend him in late May, ‘due to an ongoing investigation’ against the scholar.
Zaid sent a letter to the Islamic Ministry a few days later, asking to revoke the suspension. He has since met with officials from the ministry, to discuss the matter.
The prominent scholar, via twitter on Monday, revealed that his suspension has been lifted. He also thanked those who helped resolve the matter, as well as those that gave him courage and strength during the rough times.
While neither the Islamic Ministry nor Zaid have disclosed the exact reason for his suspension, he remains active on social media, at times even criticizing the government’s activities.
