Shameful that housing minister was able to check on flat residents seven years after appointment: MP Mahloof
Muizzu wrote that the level of negligence in the Sinamale flats by the Male’ city council is evident upon visiting residents of the flats
Mahloof said it is a matter of shame that the minister checked up on flat residents seven years after he had been in office,

Member of Parliament for South-Galolhu constituency Ahmed Mahloof has criticized Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, calling it 'a shame' that he was only able to check on the situations of those residing in flats 'after seven years in office'.

Minister Muizzu had posted a tweet in Dhivehi on Saturday, which reads that the serious negligence in the flats in Sinamale by Male’ city council 'is perceivable upon visiting the residents of the flats'. He further went on to question why the council is treating the citizens 'with such irreverence'.

Mahloof also took to twitter to respond to the minister, writing that the minister saying that he had visited residents of Sinamale flats seven years after his appointment 'is a matter of shame', and added that it shows that he 'had failed in upholding his responsibilities as housing minister'.

In addition, Male’ city’s Deputy Mayor Shamau Shareef had also said that the power of the councils had been overhauled by the Ministry of Home Affairs and exploited by the government of President Yameen.
