Ministry changes times for which they accept 'Hiyaa' flat forms
Forms will now be accepted from 10:30 a.m to 04:00 p.m. and from 08:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. after nightfall.

The ministry of Housing and infrastructure has changed the times for which they accept flat forms for 'Hiyaa' - the government's social housing project.

According to the media official at the ministry, their officials will be accepting forms from 10:30 a.m to 04:00 p.m. and from 08:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

These changes were brought as a convenience for citizens and will be in effect until Wednesday.

During the fasting month of Ramadan, form submissions were accepted from 10:30 a.m to 01:30 p.m. and from 09:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at night.

While the ministry had resumed accepting applications for the state’s housing scheme after a three-day halt for Eid holidays, 20 counters are at service and a convenient way to take token numbers has also been introduced through Queue Bee mobile application.

‘Hiyaa’ housing scheme offers 7000 flats in 12 categories out of which 1,000 flats will be issued to married coupes between ages 18 – 40, 1,000 flats to non-native residents of capital city Male’ who are not included in the registry, 1,044 flats for non-native residents of capital city Male’ that are registered to the municipality, 475 flats for local doctors and nurses, 625 flats for local teachers, 500 for single mothers and fathers, 200 flats for families with special needs, 256 for civil service employees, 300 for officers of the military and 300 flats for police officers.

According to housing minister Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, recipients of the flats under the shelter program will be announced in August 2018.

The Ministry began accepting forms on the 03rd of June and will proceed until the end of July.
