Complaints regarding voter's list escalate

The opposition continues to assert that the election will not be a transparent and fair one

Complaints regarding the voter’s list for the upcoming Presidential Election have increased since its publication.

While the voter’s list has been publicized on the Elections Commission’s website, many have complained of difficulties in accessing the website as well as issues with their SMS service.

In a tweet on Monday, Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)’s Secretariat said Male’ City districts are missing from the voter’s list and that this is believed to get in the way of a free and fair election.

While the Presidential Election has been slated for the 23rd of September, the opposition continues to assert that it will not be a transparent and fair one.
