Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has said that the road development project in Shaviyani atoll Funadhoo is almost complete.

According to MTCC, they are currently installing street lights, tarring the roads, and constructing the pavements.

MTCC said that work is proceeding speedily and that 81% of the project was completed by April.

10 roads consisting of 3.3 kilometers are to be tarred to a length under this project. The roads are to be developed with a water pumping system and pavements. Additionally, a cable junction is also to be installed under this project.

The road development project was officially handed to MTCC on the 13th of September 2015 to be completed within 420 days. However, the project is yet to be completed.

MVR 45.6 million from the state budget is to be spent for this project.
