ADK launches mechanical car parking system
The car parking accommodates 19 cars
MVR 50 will be charged for four hours
Parking for 300 motorcycles will also be organized

The mechanical car parking system inside ADK Hospital premises was officially launched on Saturday.

Housing Minister Dr, Mohamed Muizzu was the chief guest at the ceremony held on Saturday night, and the system was launched with the parking of the minister's car.

Speaking at the ceremony Muizzu expressed his gratitude to ADK's management for establishing such an important service to the citizens of the Maldives.

Muizzu expressed his consent over the establishment of an electronic car park since it was an initiation of a private company under the state's program to bring a solution to parking restrictions in the capital city. He added that the government wishes to see more such initiations.

ADK's Managing Director (MD) Ahmed Afaal said that the path leading into the hospital has been made convenient to access the car parking as well. The MD said that 19 four wheelers can be parked at once inside the five storey high car parking and the fee for four hours will be MVR 50, which has to be paid through the system directly. After the four hour period is up, MVR 60 will be charged per hour.

Afaal added the vehicles parked in the system for 24 hours may be towed at ADK's will.

The MD further gave his assurance that vehicles in the car parking will have insurance for anything that may happen to them while they are parked, exempt of natural disasters.

Afaal further said that a new building is being constructed right next to the car parking of which two floors will be allocated for the parking of about 300 motorcycles.
