Second suspension comes lesser than a month since they resumed office after the first suspension
Councilors were suspended for a period of three months
They were suspended for allegedly obstructing the work of employees at the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure

The Local Government Authority (LGA) has yet again suspended members of Haa Alif Ihavandhoo council.

Five members of the island council were suspended for a period of three months.

They were suspended for allegedly obstructing the work of employees at the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure.

The council members will also not be granted their salaries while under suspension.

Five council members from Ihavandhoo council had been suspended priorly for three months as well. They were suspended for their involvement in the protest held following fishermen's day. 

Priorly suspended councilors had resumed office on the 02nd of May, with their second suspension coming shorter than a month since they resumed work.
