EC seeks trainers for upcoming ballots
The commission, according to the announcement, will cover all costs that come under the training program
Trainers will be given wages of MVR 700 per everyday they conduct training in outlying atolls
EC has requested interested parties to submit their application forms to the commission before 02:00 p.m on the 14th of June.

The Elections Commission (EC) has made an announcement seeking 70 individuals interested to become trainers to educate officials who will be active in polling stations in outlying islands, prior to the upcoming presidential elections.

An announcement made by the commission on Wednesday reads that a refresher course is to be conducted from the 11th till the 17th of August for individuals who are interested in working as a trainer in this year's presidential ballots in outlying atolls as well as cities.

The commission, according to the announcement, will cover all costs that come under the training program and trainers who complete the course will be enrolled with the commission and given wages of MVR 700 for days in which they conduct training in outlying atolls.

EC has requested interested parties to submit their application forms to the commission before 02:00 p.m on the 14th of June.

The qualifications required for enrollment are as follows.

1. Being qualified enough to educate officials who need basic instructions about the ballots

2. Having a Certificate level 4 or higher qualification in the field

3. Having experience in the field of teaching and

4. Having been active in the previous elections as well.

Responsibilities of trainers are to educate officials who will be active near the ballots in polling stations, to handle the transfer of ballot papers and significant documents associated with them within atolls, transferring them back to capital city Male' once the ballots are complete as well as compiling a final report on how everything went during the elections.
