Joint Opposition candidate will triumph even without campaigning: MP Rozaina
Rozaina said that if an election was to be held, President Yameen would indefinitely lose
The current occurrings enclosing the country are all reasons that President Yameen must not be elected
We suspect the doubling of vote papers. There are plenty of things we reckon could happen in the election- Rozaina

Member of Parliament (MP) for Addu-Meedhoo constituency Rozaina Adam has said that citizens know the reasons why incumbent President Abdulla Yameen must not be allowed to assume office for a second term very clearly and that the candidate running for presidency from the joint opposition parties will win the election even though campaigns are not consistent.

Speaking on RaajjeTV's "Fala Surukhee" program regarding the upcoming presidential elections slated for September, Rozaina said that if an election was to be held, President Yameen would indefinitely lose.

The MP said that the current occurrings enclosing the country are all reasons that President Yameen must not be elected and that the citizens know it very well.

Rozaina said that while citizen's perceptions are crystal clear to the opposition, President Yameen is 'clueless about his people's uncertainties' and that he no longer has his people's support.

"He is throwing everyone at arm's reach behind bars, be it even his wife or children. Honestly there is no need to campaign to bring such a cruel ruler down" said Rozaina.

Rozaina said that there is a possibility of seeing what was observed in the recent Malaysian General Election where the opposition conquered a historic win over a 60-year rule, in the Maldives if the citizens stick together.

"We suspect the doubling of vote papers. There are plenty of things we reckon could happen in the election. However, if we manage to garner enough votes to bring him down, this will not be a difficult task" said Rozaina.

Rozaina also highlighted that the government and elections commission under state influence will do everything in it's power to manoeuvre the election, be it by fabricating false identity cards or printing out extra vote papers. She added that it is believed that voters registration will also be messed with.
