Malé skyline ripe with 'tokens of theft': ex-AG Dhiyana
Dhiyana's tweet comes in response to a tweet posted by Dr. Abdulla Khaleel
Khaleel tweeted that the leader who brought significant progress to Maldives is President Yameen.

Capital city Malé's skyline and infrastructure is ripe with signs of theft and corruption, says former Attorney General Dhiyana Saeed.

Dhiyana, a vocal critic of President Yameen Abdul Gayoom, in a tweet typed out in Dhivehi on Wednesday night, wrote that 'land alotted to a brother-in-law is visible on the waterfront of the capital city', reffering to Nasandhura and on the left towards Henveiru of outlying Boduthakurufaan Magu is the v'ast house block bought off abusing power and graft'.

Right next to the house block is the 'indication of the freedom of Maldives being mortgaged to China', referring to the China Maldives Friendship Bridge.

"After this comes the 25-storey building that is being constructed under corruption on the other end of Male' city", the tweet also said.

Dhiyana's tweet comes in response to a tweet posted by MP for Nilandhoo Constituency, Chair of Parliamentary Economic Affairs Committee and Secretary General of Progressive Party of Maldives Dr. Abdulla Khaleel following opposition's triumph in the Malaysian General Elections.

Khaleel had written that Dr. Mahathir Mohamed, who served as former Prime Minister was the ruler who brought significant developments to Malaysia and that Pakatan Harapan's win shows that triumph follows progress and development. According to Khaleel, people will say yes to a ruler who brings development, as such, the leader who brought significant progress to Maldives is President Yameen.

While millions are being spent from state funds for the construction of that building which will eventually be made a Hospital, many question on whether adequate health facilities will be made available there at all.

While the government is constructing towering buildings under the name of development under unreasonable costs with substancial loans, the opposition continues to claim that it cannot be seen as development.
