Doctors were forced to amputate the leg of a docker whose leg was crushed after being run over by a forklift.
While the incident took place at around 11am on Wednesday, he was taken to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment. While doctors had immediately attended to him, they have since been forced to amputate his leg, due to the injuries sustained.
An official from the hospital said that they were forced to amputate his leg due to the extent of the injures, which had led to an infection. The official emphasized that they had followed through with the amputation after discussing with the docker’s family.
An eye-witness had told RaajjeMV that it was the docker’s right foot that had been crushed under the rear wheels of the forklift, as it was reversing after picking up a container.
