The tornado had formed at around 10:20 on Tuesday night.

A tornado has left six households destroyed in Alif Alif atoll Bodufolhudhoo island on Tuesday night.

Speaking to RaajjeMV, the island council chief Sujau Adam said that the tornado had formed at around 10:20pm.

Council chief said that the tornado had ripped the tin roof of one of the houses, leaving it unfit to live in.

The tornado had ripped off many tin roofs in residences, leaving little to massive holes on the houses.

Sujau highlighted that no one had been injured in the wake of the tornado and that the house that was completely torn down was a recently constructed one where no one had yet been living, whereas the other houses had been occupied.

The council chief also said that the tornado had demolished many trees and crops and that National Disaster Management Center is evaluating the damages.
