Police reject Yumna's request to delay summons
Police rejected Yumna's appeal to delay her summons to Tuesday
Summons issued on her was followed by allegations of her hand in bribing officials to plan a conspiracy to overthrow the government

Maldives Police Service has rejected Yumna's Maumoon's appeal to delay her summons initially scheduled for Monday evening.

Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom's daughter Yumna Maumoon had requested in a letter addressed to Police Commissioner Abdulla Nawaz to delay the police summons to Tuesday, as she is handling matters of her younger daughter on her own and her elder daughter is expected to arrive in Male' on Monday.

Summons issued on her was followed by allegations of her involvement in bribing officials to plan a conspiracy to overthrow the government.

Yumna, who has been vocal in the call to transfer her father to house arrest, will be the fourth member of Gayoom's family to be jailed if the police raise charges against her.
