The Chancellor of the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM), Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed is currently in Saudi Arabia, on official university business.
According to IUM, the Chancellor is in Riyadh at the special invitation of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs of Saudi Arabia.
During the visit, he is to hold ‘official’ meetings with the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, senior officials of Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Ministry of Education.
While Dr. Shaheem had, in a tweet, revealed that he has been given the opportunity to visit five universities there, IUM added that the Chancellor will be visiting the ‘five most renowned’ universities of Saudi Arabia, including King Abdul Aziz University, King Saud University, Madina Islamic University and Imam Mohamed Islamic University.
He is to hold discussions on “advancing the developmental corporation in various areas between IUM and the universities”.
Dr. Shaheem had, in his tweet, noted that the trip will help in the advancement of IUM.
He was accompanied by senior officials of the Islamic University of Maldives.
