Lawyer Hisan Hussain has claimed that there are people working within state institutions to obstruct the investigation and hide the truth behind murder of blogger Yameen Rasheed.

Speaking on a special RaajjeTV programme on the one-year anniversary of his death on Sunday, Hisan, a legal counsel of Yameen’s family, said that people working anonymously at the state-level have been trying forcefully and successfully to hide the facts regarding the court cases.

Hisan said that the current situation means that receiving justice for Yameen’s family is at its lowest point.

She also said that if the police do not want to keep anything secret regarding Yameen’s murder, they would disclose the results of their investigation. She noted that the police service has not even disclosed any information to the family.

Hisaan added they were at the point that those questioning the reason behind Yameen’s murder is being punished instead of those involved in the killing.
