A Bangladeshi citizen who had been seeking treatment for injuries he had sustained in a speed boat collision in Kaafu atoll has succumbed to his injuries.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) said that the expatriate who had been seeking treatment at ADK Hospital had died shortly after he had been brought in and was a crew member on one of the speed boats involved in the accident.

The two boats involved in th colli are Ithaafushi 3 and Ithaafushi 5.

Five others are currently being treated at ADK hospital following several injuries they had sustained due to the collision.

RaajjeMV was unable to attain a comment from ADK hospital at the time of publishing.

A man, one of the boat captains was reported missing after the collision. 

According to sources the man reported missing is Ahmed Mohamed, native to Dhaal atoll Kudahuvadhoo island is Ahmed Mohamed. Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Coastguard has launched a search for Mohamed.
