Health ministry hosts award ceremony on World Health Day

Awards have been conferred to exceptional figures of the health sector in commemoration of World Health Day.

This year's official ceremony to celebrate World Health Day was held in Alif Dhaal atoll Mahibadhoo island.

Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim had attended the ceremony held on Saturday morning as the honorable guest and had conferred the awards.

Awards had been conferred under three categories of the health sector.

While the award for the most dedicated in promoting health awareness was conferred to Dhaal Atoll Hospital, Maldives Red Crescent had been conferred the award for the private association that provided most services in the health sector and the most remarkable study in the Maldives health sector had been titled to Dr. Aishath Shifaza.

The Ministry of Health has been conferring these awards annually since 2014.

Apart from conferring these awards, the minister had also published volume 5 of the Maldives Health Research Bulletin and a book on the health sector's accomplishments from 2014 to 2017, as well as launching the Health Protection Agency (HPA)'s new logo at the ceremony.
