Maldives has established political ties with Ivory Coast, officially known as the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maldives had established political ties with Ivory Coast on the 13th of April in New York City.
The agreement was signed by permanent representative of Maldives to the United Nations, Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed and Permanent Representative of Ivory Coast to the United Nations Bernard Tanoh-Boutchoué.
The agreement was signed at the permanent mission of the Republic of Maldives to the United Nations established in New York City.
According to the Foreign Ministry, these ties will lead to many fruitful progressions for both countries.
Ivory Coast, a sovereign state located in west Africa is the 167th country to develop political ties with the Maldives.
While Maldives has developed diplomatic ties with west African state Ivory Coast, it had cut ties with Qatar located in western Asia and Iran of the middle east, also leaving the commonwealth.
