Concerned guardians say Education Minister's visit to L. atoll is heavily politicized
School staff had been requested to wear 'matching outfits' for the special occasion
Guardians at the school had been asked to prepare ceremonial foods for the welcoming ceremony

Concerned guardians have claimed that some islanders are politicizing the welcoming of Education Minister Aishath Shihama's to Laamu atoll Maabaidhoo.

Speaking to RaajjeMV regarding th matter, a guardian at Maabaidhoo School said that while the minister is to arrive at the island on Friday, school management and PPM activists are tirelessly organizing a grand welcome.

RaajjeMV was unable to get a comment from the Education Ministry and Maabaidhoo School at the time of publishing.

Guardians at the school had been asked to prepare ceremonial foods for the welcoming ceremony and some had expressed their concern over the matter, saying that school staff had been requested to wear matching outfits for the special occasion.

According to concerned guardians, they believe ceremonial foods and decorating the island for such occasions was a culture in earlier days, adding that the overall conduct of the school and checking the welfare of students would be more beneficial to them.
