Food has been provided to citizens of Ghouta, a suburban district in southwestern Syria, living under duress through the aid provided by Maldives collected from a charity titled "Ghouta Emergency Relief".
Approximately MVR 1.3 million had been collected in the relief fund carried out in the Maldives, according to the International Aid Campaign.
The campaign officials said that the funds received from Maldivian authorities had been transferred to Turkish associations on the 02nd of April.
The campaign also said that work is being carried out to provide food for the citizens suffering in Ghouta through IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, a conservative Turkish non-governmental organization.
Maldives had extended a helping hand for those suffering in the eastern ward of Ghouta, a suburbun district of besieged Syria.
Many had played a part in contribution for the emergency relief fund which was opened for donations on the 25th of February this year and donations were accepted until the 11th of March.
