President Abdulla Yameen will have no choice but to step down when the day comes, says Kendhoo MP Ali Hussain.

Speaking at the Joint Opposition rally in HA Ihavandhoo on Friday night, the lawmaker said that citizens have the Constitutional right to remove any president within 24 hours.

“The president is no more significant than a worm. When he has to be removed, he will be. We will change this administration within the Constitution.”

He said the judges are always ready to approve the removal of the president as soon as the parliament passes the impeachment motion.

However, since the MPs are representing the citizens, they will only remove the president when their constituents approve, Hussain said.
