President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has created a new state-run company under the "National Investment Management Company".
The president's resolution states the reason behind the initiation of this company is to help in the better acknowledgement of the various changes surfacing to the wordly and Maldivian economy, to understand the conseqences of these changes to current state investments and to better understand how to manage future investments of the state.
This company will ensure investment safety, raise investment profits and will encourage the introduction of financial products, nourish islamic finances as well as conventional finances.
