A 19-year-old was injured in a stabbing in capital Malé City on Saturday night.

The attack took place at around 10:15pm, in the Maafannu ward of the city. The youth injured in the attack was taken to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital immediately, said the police media officer.

While eyewitnesses told RaajjeMV that around six individuals were arrested from near the area that the stabbing took place, police denied this and said that they “are looking into the matter”.

The stabbing is being investigated by the police's Serious and Organized Crime Department.
