Shahida Ali, 40, who was found hanged in her residence in Nolhivaram Island of Haa Dhaal Atoll on Thursday, has been brought back to the Maldives and buried.
Family reports that when she was found, both the noose and knot were tied twelve feet high, tight and with proficiency as though by someone trained in ropesmanship, adding that they had not known her to be skilled in ropesmanship or someone with ‘suicidal’ thoughts although she had a history of mental illness.
According to Police Spokesperson Ahmed Shifan, the body had been brought back to capital Male’ city on Thursday night, and buried on Friday night.
Shahida’s body was sent to India for post-mortem on the 06th of March, Tuesday after having been transferred to Male’ on Sunday upon murder allegations.
A case relating to Shahida emerged in the month of December 2017 as well. She had been reported missing and was later found in the woods a day later.
