Police have detached Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)'s flag from Sh. Kanditheemu island's littoral area.

According to sources, police had detached the MDP flag some time this afternoon. 

When contacted by RaajjeMV for details on the flag's removal, the island council had not responded to the station's call.

The council's chief had said that he had been away for a while and had recently come back to the island, further saying that he does not know any details regarding the matter.

None of the council members acknowledged the matter.
