VMedia has opened a fund titled "Han'gaa fund" following defamation fine
The fund box is placed in VTV's main office in Sosun Magu
Donations made easier through internet banking by opening two accounts for transfer
Broadcom had fined VTV and VFM by MVR 200,000 respectively on the basis of broadcasting content that defames incumbent President Yameen Abdul Gayoom. 

VMedia group has opened a fund box titled "Han'gaa fund" following Maldives Broadcasting Commission's fine imposed on VMedia group by an amount of MVR 400,000 to be paid in total within thirty days. 

VMedia was fined for broadcasting a statement made by Member of Parliament for Thimarafushi constituency Mohamed Musthafa at an opposition rally in F. Magoodhoo island that was aired live on the 08th of December, 2017.

Following the fine, VMedia group placed a fund box in their main office in order to attain as much assitance as they can get from supporters and well-wishers to pay up the fine within thirty days.

The box has been placed in the lobby area of VTV office. VMedia has stated that they will be placing more fund boxes throughout atolls and in different districts of the capital city.

In the opening event of the "Han'gaa fund box" held on Thursday night, the first donation to the group was made by Thimarafushi constituency Member of Parliament Mohamed Musthafa.
