EC announces membership opportunities

Elections Commission (EC) has opened opportunities for interested individuals to run for a seat at the commission.
The president's office first announced vacancy approximately 24 hours following then EC chief Ahmed Sulaiman's resignation, on the 31st of January.
Raajje.mv had learned that Ahmed Sulaiman had resigned following a direct order from President Abdulla Yameen.
Although the opportunity was opened to run for a seat at the commission on the 31st of January, the president's office on Sunday stated that their second announcement comes after the number of applicants had not reached the required count the first time around.
The deadline for applications is set at 10:00 am on the 1st of March.
