Ooredoo Maldives has been crowned the ‘Small Markets Telco’ of the year at the prestigious Twimbit Telecom Awards 2024.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, the telecommunications giant revealed that Ooredoo Maldives won the title at the Twimbit Awards, held at St. Regis Singapore on May 28.
Ooredoo Maldives was up against two other nominees for the ‘Small Markets Telco’ award; Dhiraagu and DST, Brunei.
CEO of Ooredoo Maldives Khalid Al-Hamadi revealed that the company is humbled and honored to receive the award.
He described the win to mirror the hard work and dedication of Ooredoo’s incredible team, whose relentless efforts have made this achievement possible.
Ooredoo Maldives’ CEO extended heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to this success.
Further, he expressed keenness to continue their journey of innovation and excellence in the telecom industry.
Major telecom companies and tech companies spanning the Asia Pacific region participated in the awards.
Some of the companies that participated include Bharti Airtel, Singtel, Starhub, Rakuten Mobile Japan, Reliance Jio, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, China Mobile and several others.
As the highest honor for telecom innovators, the Twimbit Telecom Awards recognized outstanding achievements in 23 categories including ‘Telco of the Year’, ‘Small Markets Telco of the Year’, ‘Telco to Techno of the Year’ and several others.
These awards highlight the overall excellence and innovation across various segments.
