A 41-year-old male has been arrested in Maduvvari island of Raa atoll, for allegedly vandalizing a vehicle belonging to the Maldives Police Service (MPS).

The felony took place in Maduvvari island last Thursday, with the culprits breaking the windshield of a police car being used there. A police spokesperson had, on Friday, revealed that they had launched a special investigation into the matter.

Court has ordered to keep the accused in remand for 15 days.

Police said that it condemned such acts and that they will find those responsible, adding that that the ‘strongest measures’ will be taken against them, as per law.
