President Abdulla Yameen has, on Monday, inaugurated the services for clean drinking water in Hinnavaru island of Faadhippolhu (Lhaviyani) atoll.
The President arrived in Hinnavaru on Monday morning, one of the many stops of his three-day tour.
The drinking water supply system in Hinnavaru, which uses two plants to produce 80 cubic metres of water per day, was fully funded by the American government, under the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The work for the USD 3.8 million project started in December 2015, and all work was completed by May this year.
President Yameen is currently on a three-day visit to South Miladhunmadulu (Noonu) atoll, Faadhihpolhu (Lahviyani) atoll and South Maalhosmadulu (Baa) atoll. He was in Maalhendhoo, Hen’badhoo, Holhudhoo and Velidhoo islands in Noonu atoll on Sunday, inaugurating the various completed projects in the islands.
