Schools closed on Thursday, with the end of the 2017 academic year.

Report cards were issued to students on Thursday, and the students will go on their year-end holiday.

The 2017 academic year started on January 8, with over 78,000 students across the country. A total of 7,700 teachers were employed this year, with 5,700 local teachers.

The 2018 academic year is to begin on January 14^th. However, all teachers are to return to work on the 8^th of January.

While the academic year is divided into two terms, first term exams will be held in May and second term exams in October.
