Former Member of Parliament for the West Maafannu constituency, Mohamed Falah, has stated that it is impossible to believe a participant in a coup would have the best interests of the people at heart.
Speaking on RaajjeTV’s "Fala Surukhee" program, Falah highlighted the government's ongoing efforts to synchronize two separate elections. In this regard, Falah noted that the incumbent President, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, was not actively involved in any of the various stages of the struggle to establish democracy in the Maldives.
Instead, Fallah stated that President Muizzu ascended to power by deceiving the Maldivian people, using former President Abdulla Yameen’s vacant seat as a symbolic tool to mislead the public.
This is an individual who has never served in the Parliament of the Maldives. Following the coup that toppled the first MDP administration, he remained on the sidelines during the unrest. He later served as the Minister of Housing for two years under the Waheed administration and continued in the same role for five years during Yameen’s presidency. This is someone who rose to power by deceiving the public, capitalizing on the vacancy left by Yameen. He has never played an active role in any stage of the struggle to establish democracy in this country.Mohamed Falah, the former Member of Parliament for the Maafannu West constituency.
Falah stated that President Muizzu was a participant in the coup, and therefore, it is inconceivable that such an individual would have the best interests of the Maldivian people at heart.
All he did to pave his way to the presidency was identify every available street and open space in the country, demarcate them as parking slots, and sell them off to collect revenue for the council. I am speaking about these matters with absolute certainty.Former Member of Parliament for the Maafannu West constituency, Mohamed Falah.
Furthermore, referring to the Male' City Council, Falah stated that the People's National Congress (PNC) currently holds the majority, and if objectives remain unfulfilled, the council members must take full responsibility.
Furthermore, Falah highlighted that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s administration is undertaking numerous initiatives without due consideration for the public, expressing deep concern over these actions.
