President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has claimed that he will not allow any party, whether driven by political motives or other means, to disrupt the peace and stability of the Maldives.

The president said this while speaking to residents of Maamendhoo island of Gaaf Alif atoll during his visit to the island.

The president said that he would not allow any group to disrupt the country's peace and stability and if anyone attempts to do so, he will prevent it with a national perspective.

The president highlighted that the country's development is only possible in the presence of stability. He also shed light on the significance the government places on the matter.

In his speech, the president stated that under his administration, no one would be politically persecuted, and there would be no revenge. He also requested the public's cooperation in the government's efforts to establish stability across the island nation.

In addition to this, the president in his speech promised to fulfill the most pressing requests made by the people of Maamendhoo.

These include completing the stalled sewerage project at a rapid pace, followed by the contracted road development project, which he said would be carried out swiftly as well.

Further, the president highlighted that they would work with the Ministry of Infrastructure to provide a temporary solution to coastal erosion, which is one of the biggest issues facing the island, as requested by the council.

Highlighting that the island's health center would be developed to provide 24-hour service, the president also stated that the construction of the school's multipurpose hall would begin this year.

The president began a tour to visit all islands of the Maldives and meet with councils and citizens towards the end of 2024.
