Aminath “Nashee” Nasheedha, a celebrated cake artist who has captured the hearts of many Maldivians, has earned a coveted spot as a finalist in two prestigious categories of the renowned D’licious Magazine Awards.

Proud founder of ‘Nashee Cakes’, Nasheedha is an artist skilled in bringing extraordinary flavors to both Maldivians and foreigners. She has been selected as a finalist in two categories of the D’licious Magazine Awards; “Modern Artist Innovator of the Year” and “Cake Designer of the Year”.

Her inclusion as a finalist in this prestigious award places her among the world’s most renowned artists, all vying for recognition.

Of the two categories in which Nasheedha is a finalist, Modern Artist Innovator of the Year is an award given for inventing a new technique. Speaking to RaajjeMV about this, Nasheedha said she was nominated as a finalist for that award in connection with a technique she used in cake design using royal icing. She was shortlisted for that award and included among the finalists through an internationally open vote where she received the highest number of votes. It is noteworthy that Nasheedha is among the artists who received the most votes.

In addition to this, Nasheedha has also highlighted how she got the opportunity to be nominated for Cake Designer of the Year. Nasheedha said she had previously prepared tutorials for the magazine. She noted that after that, the magazine contacted her to provide information about the award.

D’licious Magazine has previously featured photos of Nasheedha’s cake tutorials on its cover as well. Nasheedha has asked the public to vote for her in the awards for which she has been nominated in D’licious Magazine. She has also noted that winning this award would be a beautiful accolade for the Maldives as well.

Nasheedha, an expert in the field of cake making, is an artist who has been showcasing different excellent skills on international platforms as well as in the Maldives.

Several competed for both of these categories. From among them, seven were selected as finalists in one category while five were selected in the other category.

The award winners from among the finalists are chosen by combining judges' marks and votes, with the presentation of awards to those who achieve rankings planned to take place at a special ceremony in the United Kingdom.

Previously, back in 2023, Nasheedha had applied for the “Tutorial of the Year Award” at the D’licious Magazine Awards. That year too, she was nominated in three categories including “Cake Designer of the Year”.
