The council futsal challenge in Fodhdhoo island of Noonu atoll has kicked off.
Five teams are competing in the Fodhdhoo Council Futsal Challenge including the atoll’s Velidhoo team.
The first match in the tournament ended in a draw of 4 – 4 between Velidhoo Sports Club and Kuda Kanmathi United.
Kuda Kanmathi United’s captain Mohamed Maumoon, who was crowned the best player of the match, scored three goals.
The remaining goals were scored by Ahmed Maaish Rasheed.
Velidhoo team’s goals were scored by Abdulla Ziham, Ayaal Abdulla, Hassan Ibrahim and Abdulla Ibrahim.
Other teams competing in the Fodhdhoo Council Futsal Challenge are Fodhdhoo Health Center and the latest champion team Saabba FC.
By the end of the five-team league games, the team leading the games will head directly into the finals.
The second place in the final will go to the winner of the semi-final between the second-winning team and the team that comes third.
This is the fifth edition of the Fodhdhoo Council Futsal Challenge.
This year’s Fodhdhoo Council Futsal Challenge will proceed through September 24.
