Minister of Health Dr. Abdulla Khaleel has purchased a flat in Hulhumalé, the capital city’s suburban extension.
Khaleel purchased an apartment from FW Residences in Hulhumalé.
The flat is worth MVR 3.1 million.
Upon being contacted by RaajjeMV for details of the purchase, Minister Khaleel stated that he has shared the details of the purchase on social media platform ‘X’.
In his post, Khaleel noted that he started paying for the apartment by FW Construction, back in 2018 and that the agreement was signed on 18 August 2018.
The health minister went on to highlight that the additional expenses required to purchase the flat were made through a ‘Lui Loan’ from BML Islamic Bank.
Of the loan amount, MVR 1,401,892.90 remains unsettled to date, according to Khaleel.
The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) filed at the Civil Court to transfer the flat under Khaleel’s name, in December 2023.
On August 7, the Civil Court ruled that Khaleel has paid the price for the 1,235-square-feet apartment, and that it belongs to him.
The case was filed at the Civil Court in December 2023.
Khaleel served as a parliamentarian for Nilandhoo constituency in the past.
He has also run a business.
