The government is to incorporate Lhossalafushi island into the jurisdiction of Kurendhoo island council, in Lhaviyani atoll.

This was revealed by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, while speaking to residents of Kurendhoo island on Saturday.

Highlighting that all possible efforts will be directed to make this a reality, the president stated that this measure aims to ensure the sustainable development of Kurendhoo.

President Muizzu noted that his administration would work to ensure economic progress for all islands, paving the path for a prosperous future for the island communities.

Announcing his goal to follow proper procedures while seeking the least disruptive path to change the jurisdiction of Lhossalafushi, the president stated that he would do everything possible to make it happen, as it would mean the island residents would be able to reap immense benefits from this change.

Muizzu went on to congratulate Kurendhoo School on marking its 40th anniversary and expressed his commitment to support the school's future endeavors.
