President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has been briefed on the urgent issue of land scarcity facing the residents of Felidhoo island of Vaavu atoll.

This was done during a meeting he held with the island’s council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) members on Wednesday.

Discussions at the meeting revolved around the community’s development vision, challenges they currently face as well as other issues of concern.

Councilors shed light on the challenges their community has been facing in the education and sports sectors as well.

Further, they highlighted the urgency of resuming halted development projects, the need for a picnic island to be established nearby as well as the need to facilitate the issuance of driving licenses from Vaavu Atoll.

The meeting also saw the island’s WDC members shedding light on challenges surfacing due to space constraints, which they said hinders their work.
