Council members of Rinbudhoo island of Dhaal atoll have urged the administration to solve the problem of housing shortage facing the island community.
This was done during a meeting President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu held with the island’s council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) members on Tuesday.
Discussions at the meeting revolved around the need to solve housing issues as well as to boost medical laboratory services on the island.
Shedding light on the need to build a new mosque on the island, the councilors shared challenges faced due to space limitations at the island’s school as well as council secretariat.
The president was also briefed on challenges in providing adequate electricity services.
Listening to these concerns, the president assured the members that his administration would address the issues raised by the council and seek solutions to tackle them, through consultations with relevant authorities.
He also shed light on his administration’s vision to provide new buildings to house council secretariats across the nation.
