The president of EXIM China noted the historical ties, cooperation, and mutual respect between the two countries

The Export-Import Bank of China is eager to foster positive collaborations with the government of Maldives.

The assurance was given by President of the Export-Import Bank of China Ren Shengjun, who paid a courtesy call on President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Tuesday.

The meeting saw President Muizzu shedding light on the close bonds of friendship enjoyed between the governments of Maldives and China, and especially on the considerable support the Exim Bank has extended to the Maldivian government.

Highlighting multiple key development initiatives by the government of China in Maldives including the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge and several social housing projects, Muizzu noted that he highly prioritizes the commitment he has made to deliver housing for all citizens of Maldives within his five-year presidential term.

Speaking at the meeting, the president of EXIM China noted the historical ties, cooperation, and mutual respect between the two countries.

He went on to acknowledge the early participation of the Maldivian government in the Belt and Road Initiative.

Further, he affirmed EXIM China’s eagerness to enhance optimistic collaborations with the Maldives.

The meeting was concluded with both sides expressing renewed commitment to future engagements.
