The social development needs facing Hulhudhuffaaru island of Raa atoll, have been discussed with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
This was done during a meeting the president held with the island’s council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) members on Sunday.
The discussions at the meeting revolved around several issues and needs of the island community, including a solution to the coastal erosion concerns, as well as the need to construct the island’s roads to modern standards.
The council also sought from the government to bring Gaaun'doodhoo Island under its jurisdiction.
Concerns were also raised regarding the delay of the new classroom extension building for the school.
The president was briefed on the need for social development on the island as well.
Listening to these concerns, the president assured the members that his administration would address the issues raised by the council and seek solutions to tackle them, through consultations with relevant authorities.
