The council members of Thimarafushi Island of Thaa atoll have assured that they will fully support the development vision the incumbent administration has for the island.

This was done during a meeting held with members of the island’s council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) on Wednesday.

The meeting was held as part of the president’s brief three-day tour of some islands of Thaa atoll, which he began on Tuesday and concluded on Thursday.

Sitting down for talks with the island council and WDC, the president listened to the concerns and urgent needs of the island community relayed by the councilors.

Some of the urgent requirements by the island community include harbor repairs including the construction of a breakwater, the need for a hospital, fundamental utility services in the construction zone for new housing units as well as support for sports development.

The meeting also saw Thimarafushi WDC members touching upon the crucial concerns they face in their work.

Listening to these concerns, the president noted that he would work to provide agreeable solutions to the issues raised in consultation with relevant ministries.
