The Maldivian first couple has visited the Fujian Museum in Fuzhou, China.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed visited the Fujian Museum on Tuesday, as part of their ongoing state visit to China.
Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed departed to the People’s Republic of China on a state visit on Sunday night.
The state visit is being conducted upon an official invitation from the President of China, Xi Jinping.
The first couple is accompanied by a high-level delegation of government officials during the visit.
The Maldivian first couple was briefed regarding the significance of the museum by representatives from the Fujian Museum during the visit.
Muizzu and Sajidha went on to take a tour, where they were briefed on the history and culture of the country.
The Maldivian First Couple is undertaking a visit to China at a time relations between India and Maldives have soured once again, over posts on social media platform ‘X’ by deputy ministers close to the president.
While many have been calling on the government to relieve them of their duties, all the government has done so far is suspend the deputy ministers over the racist and Xenophobic comments they made.
