Charges have been raised against the suspects apprehended on suspicion of planning bomb attacks in the capital Malé City.

Four individuals were arrested in a special operation conducted by the Maldives Police Service (MPS) on April 24, who had acquired a search warrant to search homes and arrest individuals on the grounds of possible threat to national security.

Police had searched three houses in Mahchangoalhi ward of capital city Malé in their investigation.

When they entered one of the locations, Attic Private Limited located in Embu, where officers found over 10 kilograms of TNT, three individuals were present, attempting to produce an explosive device.

While authorities are yet make an official comment on the matter, some media outlets report that the suspects were working to detonate bombs in the five different locations in Malé
