Body of an infant has been discovered inside a plastic bag at a waste site, of a Maldivian Island.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) disclosed that a body of an infant has been discovered in a plastic bag at a waste site, of Dhigurah Island in Alif Dhaalu Atoll.
MPS states that they received the information at around 09:20 am, Sunday.
Citing the doctor who examined the infant, MPS revealed that baby was dead, when they were found the body.
A team of MPS is currently on the island to further investigate the case. They have also closed the waste site.
MPS also stated that they will be sharing more information about the case, as it becomes available.
Speaking with Raajjemv, an islander revealed that the infant was discovered by individuals who had visited the waste site to separate waste. As such, they noted that the infant was wrapped inside three black, plastic bags.
