The first meeting of the newly established Social Council has been held.
Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef chaired the meeting held at the President’s Office on Wednesday.
Members of the Social Council reviewed the distribution of commitments outlined in the 'Hafthaa 14' roadmap during the meeting.
The members evaluated the division of responsibilities between the President's Office and several ministries.
The meeting saw discussions revolving around strategic planning for effective implementation of the roadmap.
'Hafthaa 14' covers a total of 161 pledges with 61 particularly designed to address the social sector.
The Social Council was provided with the latest updates of different ministries, on their efforts to fulfil the commitments outlined in the roadmap, during the meeting.
The Social Council is among the three Cabinet Councils formed during the first cabinet meeting of the new administration.
The three councils include the Social Council, the Economic Council, and the Visitor Economic Council.
The Social Council is presided over by Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef.
