Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has stated that the handing over of registration documents of the newly given land plots under the government’s “Binveriya” scheme, will now proceed at the former building of Center for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), starting 3rd October, 2023.
The Housing Ministry was previously doing this at the Hulhumale' Synthetic Track.
The Housing Ministry is currently allocating land to beneficiaries under the government's “Binveriya” scheme in line with President Ibrahim Mohammed Salih's promise to solve the housing problem in Male’ City.
State Minister at the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, Akram Kamaluddin, has assured the beneficiaries of the land scheme that their land plots and registry will be handed over to them by 5th November 2023.
The ‘Binveriyaa’ scheme comes under the ‘Gedhoruverin’ programme launched by the administration to address the housing crisis facing the residents of the Greater Malé Region. Under the scheme, 1351 plots of land will be allocated from Hulhumale’ 2218 plots from Gulhifalhu and 5432 plots in Giraavaru Falhu. This is a total of 9,001 plots of land.
Of these, 1250 acres, 1650 acres and 2050 acres will be allocated from Hulhumale’, Gulhifalhu and Giraavaru Falhu.
Furthermore, land between 2450 acres and 4000 acres will be allocated from Hulhumale’ and Gulhifalhu.
A total of 19,639 individuals have been deemed eligible in the final list for the ‘Binveriyaa’ Housing Scheme.
