Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has disclosed that the Harbor Development Project of Omadhoo Island in Alif Dhaalu Atoll, is well underway.
Taking to twitter on Sunday, MTCC disclosed that the second shipment of concrete blocks required for quay wall construction under the project, have been delivered to the site.
Additionally, the company states that quay wall block installation works are ongoing, with 51 percent completion.
MTCC mobilized the project on 30th July 2023.
Scope of works of the project include, 49,765cbm dredging and excavation operations.
The company will also be doing 12,105cbm channel dredging operations and construction of a 346m quay wall.
They will also be constructing a 398m breakwater; a 208m revetment and installing 1,6470sqm harbor pavement.
Additionally, construction of a ramp, construction of concrete jetty measuring 150m x 2m, installation of harbor lights and navigational lights are also included in the project.
The value of the project is MVR 66.96 million.
