Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has commenced the works of the Land Reclamation and Shore Protection Project of Bodufolhudhoo Island in Alifu Alifu Atoll.

The company disclosed this on 25 August, 2023.

As such, MTCC notes that the chartered dredger "Filipo Brunelleschi" is undertaking the reclamation works of Bodufolhudhoo Island, after the successful completion of HA. Ihavandhoo, Sh. Mathi Komandoo and AA. Ukulhas land reclamations.

MTCC mobilized the Bodufolhudhoo land reclamation and shore protection project site on 8 July, 2023.

Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to conduct reclamation operations of eight hectares.

The construction of a breakwater measuring 180 meters, a revetment measuring 1,052 meters and a 110-meter groyne also comes under the scope of the project.

The Bodufolhudhoo land reclamation and shore protection project is valued at MVR 74.12 million.
